Don't hurt me she cried
As the man came through the door.
I promise to be good,
And I won't cry any more.
The fear shoots through her
As he grabs her hand.
You'll pay for being bad, he said,
I'll make you understand.
He shook her and punched her
Then shook her some more.
When he finally let go
She fell to the floor.
The tears have stopped falling,
The fear is all gone.
But she'll never know
She wasn't the one wrong.
